Savory Mix microgreens

Crunch, colour and a little heat for salads and bowls.

Contains brown mustard. Mustard is a priority food allergen in Canada, so if you have a mustard allergy, don’t eat the Savory Mix.

The Savory Mix is five microgreens mixed in one box: broccoli, red radish, sunflower, purple kohlrabi and brown mustard. I sell it as a 50 g single pack for $8, harvested on Monday, packed in Richmond and at your door in Vancouver on Tuesday. It isn’t part of the Super Pack.

What’s in the Savory Mix

  • Broccoli: mild and clean
  • Red radish: peppery, with magenta stems
  • Sunflower: nutty and crunchy
  • Purple kohlrabi: mild and sweet, with violet stems
  • Brown mustard: sharp mustard heat that comes in late

What the Savory Mix tastes like

Mostly mild and crunchy, with pepper from the radish and a late, sharp kick from the brown mustard. The violet kohlrabi and magenta radish stems make it the most colourful pack I sell.

Every forkful is a little different, which is the point: it’s a ready-made salad in a box.

How to use the Savory Mix

Use it by the handful as a salad, or by the pinch as a topper with some heat.

  • As a saladOn its own with olive oil, lemon and salt, or over lettuce.
  • On grain and rice bowlsA handful on top, with a tahini or sesame dressing.
  • In sandwiches and wrapsIn place of lettuce, for crunch and a little pepper.
  • On tacos and flatbreadsA pinch on top, just before you eat.
  • On soups and curriesA pinch on top as a garnish, just before serving.

It pairs well with pea shoots: the sweet pea softens the mustard’s heat in a bigger salad.

How to keep them fresh

Put the box in the fridge as soon as it’s in. In the fridge, in the closed box, they stay fresh for up to 10 days. Keep them dry, and rinse them just before you eat them.

More tips are in my guide to storing and using microgreens.

What’s in a pack

A single pack is 50 g of the Savory Mix for $8, in a clear box. It’s sold on its own, not in the Super Pack, and on a plan you can add it to your box in your account, once or with every box.

Delivery is included, no tax is added, and the minimum order for delivery is $20. Any three single packs reach the minimum, or add a Super Pack.

How it gets to you

Harvested on Monday, weighed and packed in Richmond, and at your door on Tuesday, during the day, anywhere in Vancouver west of Knight Street. You don’t need to be home: I leave your box at your door.

Orders close at 8 pm on the Sunday before each Tuesday up to the Nov 24, 2026 box, and at 9 am on the Monday before each Tuesday from the Dec 1, 2026 box. Checkout shows your Tuesday before you pay.

Allergens

The Savory Mix contains brown mustard. Mustard is a priority food allergen in Canada, so if you have a mustard allergy, don’t eat the Savory Mix.

Broccoli, red radish and kohlrabi are in the same plant family as mustard, and sunflower shoots grow from sunflower seeds. If you’re allergic to sunflower seeds, don’t eat the Savory Mix either.

I pack every green in the same place, so any pack may have a trace of another green, mustard included.
